Our approach to your health condition will fall within all of our board recognized guidelines with a holistic outlook and approach.
Chiropractic care has many dimensions and is about more than simply relieving back and neck pain. Ensuring that your spine and nervous system operate properly is a primary function of a chiropractor; additionally, your spine acts to support your musculoskeletal system and to protect your nervous system.
It is our nervous system that acts as our body’s main control center, your brain sends information down your spinal cord and out through your spinal nerves to every organ, system and appendage of your body. With this in mind, it is necessary to have your spine in proper alignment in order for your nervous system to function optimally, have improved range of motion and for you to be as healthy and pain free as possible.
Misalignments and joint restrictions on vertebrae are very common, which puts pressure on the nervous system and can limit normal spinal motion and function. Chiropractic adjustments use a gentle directional force to move the misaligned/restricted vertebrae or joints back to their optimal position, relieving pressure on the nerve and allowing the body to receive the energy and signals required to heal itself.
Chiropractic care focuses on diagnosis, appropriate treatment, and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous system. The Chiropractors at WCA use an array of techniques and modalities in treating their patients. This includes: spine and joint manipulation, Activator, Thompson Terminal Drop Piece, torque release, soft tissue therapy, ultra sound, low volt and thumper, class 3b laser, rehabilitative exercise, and orthotic consultation and production.
Therapeutic laser (Class 3B) is a non-invasive way to accelerate pain relief and healing in both acute and chronic conditions. It is used to control inflammation and increase joint flexibility by delivering light energy units to damaged cells which accelerates the healing process.
Treatment times are quick, ranging from 5-15 minutes and to maximize benefits, it is often combined with other forms of care such as chiropractic adjustments, massage, and soft tissue mobilization.
Our experienced RMT’s believe in identifying the underlying cause of the ailment. Each client’s condition will be viewed as unique and treatments will be tailored using a broad range of modalities.
Massage therapy has a long history and has been used to:
The treatment of Spinal Decompression is very safe and your doctor will utilize FDA-approved traction equipment to apply distraction forces in a specific and graduated manner. These distraction forces are offset by cycles of partial relaxation which allow the vertebrae to gently separate from each other, creating a vacuum inside the discs being targeted. The ‘vacuum effect’ created is also known as negative intra-discal pressure.
The negative pressure may induce the retraction of the herniated or bulging disc into the inside of the disc and away from the nerves involved. The effect after each session is microscopic but cumulatively grows over the course of treatment.
In addition to ‘sucking’ the disc back into place, the cycle of decompression and partial relaxation promotes the diffusion of water, oxygen and nutrient-rich fluids from the outside of the discs to the inside. These nutrients promote healing within the torn and degenerated disc fibers.
Proper patient screening is crucial to optimal treatment results. Please contact our clinic today to see if you are a candidate for Spinal Decompression Therapy.
Spinal decompression therapy is an intensive six-week program of about 20-25 treatment sessions. The treatments are a gentle and painless non-invasive option that has been highly successful in the past, allowing patients to return to a more normal lifestyle.
Extended health care plans usually cover custom orthotics partially or in full . Please contact your insurer to see if you are covered!
